就在那段的夏天完成了又暑热又火辣的审定财务报表。
秋天就是我们的欢乐以及惜福的日子。
在冰天雪地的冬天也一起忙了年尾财务报告。
歇息一会儿，春天也来临了…

人生道路就像春夏秋冬。
有的时候喜怒哀乐，也有悲欢离合。
就是那么的挑战，那么的精彩。

在这个春节里，愿大家身体安康，步步高升。

A不喜欢吃鸡蛋，每次发了鸡蛋都给B吃。刚开始B很感谢，久而久之便习惯了。习惯了，便理所当然了。于是，直到有一天，A将鸡蛋给了C，B就不爽了。她忘记了这个鸡蛋本来就是A的，A想给谁都可以。为此，她们大吵一架，从此绝交。

有一年，很热的夏天，一队人出去漂流。

女孩的拖鞋在玩水的时候，把拖鞋掉下去了，沉底了。到岸边的时候，全是晒的很烫的鹅卵石，他们要走很长的一段路。于是，女孩儿就向别人寻求帮忙，可是谁都只有一双拖鞋。女孩心里很不爽，因为她习惯了向别人求助，而只要撒娇就会得到满意地答复。可是这次却没有。她忽然觉得这些人都不好，都见死不救。

后来，有一个男孩将自己的拖鞋给了她，然后自己赤脚在那晒得滚烫的鹅卵石上走了很久的路。还自嘲说是铁板烧。女孩表示感谢，男孩说，你要记住，没有谁是必须要帮你的。帮你是出于交情，不帮你是应该。女孩记住了男孩的话，自此以后学会了对施以援手的人铭记在心，并给以更大的回报。

很多时候，我们总是希望得到别人的好。

一开始，感激不尽。可是久了，便是习惯了。习惯了一个人对你的好，便认为是理所应当的。有一天不对你好了，你便觉得怨怼。其实，不是别人不好了，而是我们的要求变多了。习惯了得到，便忘记了感恩。

读完了这篇文章，我的第一个感想是也许往往的我们已缺少了珍惜吧。

当我们遇到困难的时候，亲朋好友总会伸出双手援助我们。
“谢谢” 以及 “感激” 也经常挂在嘴边。

自然而然的。。。我们已渐渐忘记了怎么去珍惜所有得到的援助。

缺乏了珍惜，就变成了习惯，久而久之也转成了要求。

珍惜曾经拥有的，也珍惜现在拥有的。

不知道什么时侯、

自己变的这么伤感、

总是不停的问自己、

为什么我活的这么累、

人们的生活充满了压力，也充满了要求。有的时候，我们认为生活在这个社会里总是越来越复杂。我们经常失去了判断能力，也失去了自我。

Hi everyone. How are you getting on lately?

Yes, we are entering into the 3rd Quarter 2009. And yes, we are now in the month of July. Hope that everyone is in good health and cherish every moment for the next 6 months.

We should be considered lucky and thankful for the high-tech communication that we are having now. I remember that the communication tools in primary school days were only fixed-line telephone and letters, and then it slowly evolved into e-mail and IRC during secondary school days. Mobile phone, forum in the web and SMS became my important communication tools in university days. And now, we are having blog, video conference, multi-chatting, etc. Although everyone is busy these days, we still are able to communicate each other by a simple click.

So, have you communicate with your loves one?

逆风18 - 上班族的感言

七个月前，我已在某一家国际公司被录取了。自从以后，我已成就的方向出发。过了七个月后的今天，总是觉得在自己的人生中仿佛少了原来的自己。。。

三年前，我是开始在审计公司工作。那时候的我，每天都是过着轻松的生活。每到周末时，我就会看一些连续剧。连续剧早已成为我在生活中不可缺少的东西。直到如今，我认为连续剧就是在讲故事的多媒体。会讲故事的多媒体总是永远留在人们心里。

记得我小时候，父母总是管教严肃，包括让我追看连续剧。但那时候的我并没有抗拒，是知道他们要我专注学业。在我的印象中，我的父母只让我们追看一部马来西亚连续剧，名叫“Petaling Street” （华语名字忘记了）。它是描述人们在Petaling Street的生活，也包含了一些有道德性的故事。它的故事总是让我流连忘返，仿佛是在昨天刚看完那部连续剧。

记得在读大学的时候，偶像剧在马来西亚渐渐地开始受到年轻们的注目。其中有一部四位最有钱帅哥的偶像剧，好让那时候的女性朋友们进入疯狂的状态。平时从不露面的女同学也牺牲了温暖的房间，乖乖地在食堂买了晚餐后，就准时地坐在电视机前等待她们心目中的偶像。

这些年，我对偶像剧没有任何的肯定。更何况本国所出版的偶像剧总是让我感到失望。有些故事都有到位，只欠演员的功夫还未到家。真的，有些没有情绪偶像派的演员好让观众们感到不自在，好不自然。有时候，我反问自己，为何那时候的导演没有再追求改进呢？有些演员的技巧还是专业，但是故事以及配音还没到完美的境界。

在七个多月里，为工作而拚的我，几乎不知道有什么最新的偶像剧。更何况目前我所租的房间没有Astro卫星电视台。

在某个星期六的夏天，为了减压，就在下班后到1 Utama 广场逛街。就在某店柜台上的某个DVD，好让我引起注目。那就是逆风18。

说实话，那个名字“逆风18”好让我引起好奇心。有一段句子，好让我决定买下这部偶像剧，“18岁的这一年，我学会飞行不一定要顺风；正如你随着季候风而来，但走如逆风”。

逆风18是一部单纯18岁的年轻人的故事。故事里包含了友情、爱情、期望、以及珍惜。这部连续剧是描述了在我们在日常生活里的某一段故事，几乎是每一位的我们都有曾经历过的。

故事的主场景发生在台北，讲述一个来自美国籍的18岁男孩左斯华，带着逝世母亲的怀念，回到台北与素未谋面的外婆一起度过一个寒假的故事。在台北他结识了属于台北的朋友们，彼此之间的文化好奇和初探，经历了敌对、冲突、互助到最后感受了真正的友谊和爱情，让大家学会勇敢的面对问题，也对真实的自己多了一份的认识。

从DVD里的幕后花絮才知道，导演于中中非常讲究每个演员的自然情绪和演技。经过他的丰富经验以及指导之下，以及所有每一位演员的刻苦耐劳，好让这部偶像剧拥有自己特殊的生命力和色彩。

过了6个多小时的接力赛，逆风18总算给了我一个完美的句号。就是因为逆风18的存在，点燃了往后偶像剧的希望。

《故事开始，逆风18没给我很多期待；故事的结束，逆风18却让我期待更多。》

对于那些上班族的你，若你还没看过这部偶像剧，赶紧到商店去购买逆风18 DVD。支持连续剧、支持有才华的演员、支持感人的故事、以及支持正版。

人生的故事就像一部戏剧。那么工作生活的点点滴滴也是戏剧里的其中之一。已过了无数的潮浪风波，不知不觉地在第一份工作竟然打工了三年之久。是时候应该要看下一集的戏剧哦。哈哈哈。。。

不知道明天的心情会是怎样。。。如果换是你们，那么你们的心情会是如何呢？

P/S: 当我的弟弟在实验他的新玩具时(http://flysheep.blogspot.com/2008/09/50.html)，我采用了一架普通的数码相机Canon PowerShot A540，为它争一口气。当然，那只是一架普通的相机吧。哈哈哈。。。

好久没有回家乡了。最后一次回家是农历新年。

四年在北大大学以及将近三年出外工作。。。

已经很久没有享受着漫长的周末了。
打开了自己的部落格，才发现已有三个月没更新了。

躺在椅子上，回想自己在这几个月里在忙什么。
也不知道自己有没有达到目标及成就。

这个世界似乎越来越狭窄。在Friendster中，竟然我找到了多年失去联络的中学朋友。她有回复我的留言，也邀请我参加她的婚宴。

她是其中一位榜上有名的学生。读完中五，我们各自选择自己的路途。有好几位，包括她，去学院上课，而其他继续读中六。就在那时候，我渐渐地开始失去了他们的联络。

再次谢谢你邀请我出席您的婚宴。

The world is getting smaller. I was able to track back one of my long lost schoolmates, thanks to the power of Friendster. She did reply my e-mail and invite me to attend her wedding dinner.

She was one of the brilliant students in secondary school. We went to separate directions after Form 5; a number of friends, including her, went to college while a few of us were pursuing Form 6. I lost their contacts soon after I started my tertiary education.

Thanks for inviting me to your wedding dinner. I'm honored. I'm glad to meet up with other secondary friends too. That was meaningful.

Mr. & Mrs. Pik

One of the wedding bells was ringing tremendously in the middle of Malacca town. I was honored to attend another university friends' wedding dinner. (Oh... did I mention that is BOTH of them, the bride and groom?)

This was my forth time to pay a short visit in Malacca. I remember that the first time I went to Malacca with my family when I was still studying in primary school. Nothing can visit many historical places as that was one day trip during that time.

The second and third time visit to Malacca was because of the work. My boss brought us to one of the secretary firms in town to perform statutory audit over a few of our clients. (In fact that firm is situated nearby with the venue of Mr. and Mrs. Pik's wedding dinner, and that was really brought back some memories.)

We went down to Malacca by car pool. Of course, I was finally met up with Mr. & Mrs. Tan during the ride. The last time i met up with them was on their wedding day. I really glad that Mr. & Mrs. Tan have their own child now. By looking at the photos from Mr. Tan's mobile phone, I can tell you that the four months and three weeks old baby was in very good health, chubby and cute. I bet that their baby able to win in those baby contests with no doubt.

Frankly speaking, that was my first time to have a dinner with Malacca style. Maybe that was my first time. I feel that the food were unique for me.

We were not staying over night in Malacca. We reached back to Klang on the next early morning. I reached back to Petaling Jaya at around 1:30p.m. That is the reason why I am still sleepy now.

Wishing Mr. & Mrs. Pik have a wonderful journey with the lifetime of love! Congratulation to both of you!!!

Some of my university friends claimed that they are not able to view my recent articles. I was thinking hard after I woke up this morning. I checked the website coding and there is nothing wrong there. Suddenly, something flashed in my mind. Maybe those articles were written in Mandarin character. You may have two alternatives to solve that problem.

First solution is to buy and install Chinese Star 2006 program.

The second solution

You may implement the second solution, if you are using the Windows XP or higher as your operating system. All you need to do is go to Control Panel, double-click into Regional and Language Option, and then click on the tab called Languages. After that, you may see a subtitle called Supplemental language support, just tick both of the box (Install for complex script and Install for East Asian languages). You may check on the Advance tab, and select any coding which is related to the Chinese languages. Click Apply to install the plug-in. You may able to read Mandarin character after the installation.

I was driving on the damp and wet North-South Highway last Saturday, 8th March 2008. I was still wondering whether my decision was right. Both of my course mates (both of them are Mr. Lee coincidentally) were able to exercise their votes before we start our journey towards Bukit Mertajam. One of them was exercising his vote in Klang and the other was in Taiping. Another course mate, Mr. Lew from Malacca and I did not perform our duty as a voter on that morning.

Before that, I purposely registered myself as a legitimate voter at the beginning of this year. I really sacrifice myself from performing my duty and my right on that Election Day. Only one reason for that: I MUST attend Mr. and Mrs. Choong's wedding dinner (牺牲小我，完成大我啊。。。开玩笑。。。). He was also one of my course mates during my university days. I get to know his beloved wife, Mrs. Choong, since primary school days and she was also my course mates too.

Too many cars on that Saturday and we saw two major car accidents along the way. After I met up with my younger brother at Auto City in Bukit Mertajam, we had a short rest in our hotel. We had "small gathering" with other course mates in our room.

The wedding dinner was held in simple and meaningful way. Perhaps other people claimed that I was too tired and hungry during that time; but deep inside my heart I can tell you that all the food were nice and superb.

Wishing both of you have a wonderful beginning... Begin on the journey to a lifetime of love! 祝你们白头偕老。Congratulation, both of my friends! 恭喜恭喜！

Unlucky 倒霉

My blog was not always updated lately. Too many work need to be done. Or in other word, too limited time to spend on personal matters or hobbies or do something that I wished for long time ago.

I really have an unthinkable disaster recently. My computer was "acting abnormally" for the pass few days. It was just out-of-order on the 15th this month. My motherboard was sent back to the factory under warranty claim. I had no other option but need to wait. I was told that the fastest I may get back my motherboard at least a month.

How I'm able to update my blog right now? Well, I borrow my friend's computer. Now, I can continue my daily routine such as update my personal account and check e-mail. No more online chat, MSN, video conferencing or online call. This computer that I borrow is very old, at least 3 or 4 years old, but I glad that I can update my blog now.

I hope that it is not too late for me to wish you all Happy New Year and welcome to the year 2008. I also wish you all a Happy Chinese New Year.

我有一段时间没有更新我的博客。年头太多工作要赶。或另外可说是没有足够的私人时间去实现自己想要做的事。

现在事情已变成恶劣、火上加油。我的电脑已是彻底受重伤。现在那电脑的电板仍然在紧急室里抢救，还需要至少一个月的时间去接受治疗。

现在我暂时向朋友借他的旧电脑来使用。至少我还可以继续做帐、上网以及更新博客。也许这电脑太旧吧，我不能MSN, video conferencing 或是online call。

Back from hometown...

Hello...

I came back from my hometown yesterday. Driving back home twice a week is a bit tiring anyway.

By the way, I attended my cousin-in-law's wedding ceremony and dinner on Saturday. I believe that he is one of the happiest guys in town now. Congratulations!

I was waiting to hear this statement for so long, after some troublesome weeks to "survive" - without transportation.

I would like to thank to my friends and family members, who always lend me a hand and gave me a lot of moral support and courage to keep me away from accident trauma. Thanks a billion once again!

A Morning Without Transportation (没有交通工具的早上)

"Sorry that I'm not able to fetch you tomorrow morning." Hai Yuan told me before we were about heading back from the office building on Thursday late evening. He fetched me to work and send me back to Petaling Jaya for almost a week. Oh... did I mention about my car? My car was sent to workshop, due to some serious complication. While adjusting my helmet, I answered him that I'll be fine and asked him not to worry about me.

After dinner, I tried to seek help from Xenusfreeman. "...I'll sent my sister to Light Railway Transit (LRT) station earlier before I come to fetch you..." His younger sister, Venussakura told me that would be ok for her. In my heart, that would made both of them ruined their daily schedule! "Oh, if that is the case, I will catch a taxi (to save your troublesome). Thanks!"

I was lying back on my chair. I remembered that less taxi would be available in the early morning. "Just try to get a taxi from the main road", flashed in my head. Too tired to think more. I just simply slept on my bed.

On that Friday morning, I walked towards the taxi stand, which is situated just opposite of the Eastin Hotel. Most of the taxi just sped off straight towards Kuala Lumpur and none of them wanted to deal with me. Waited about 15 minutes, I lost my patient, desperately. I made a decision that will make everybody think that I'm crazy or foolish - "marched" towards Plaza Mont Kiara!

Before that, I was unable to observe anything during driving. Perhaps I put too much concentration on the wheel. Considered having a morning walk session, I enjoyed the beauty of greenery landscape along the highway, unexpectedly. The weather was cooling and I was able to feel the fresh breeze too. The 1½ hours journey was just purely breathtaking!

Sometime, we are too busy on work. Too much pressure, too many datelines and too many weird problems need to be solved. We are sacrificing ourselves on what we should deserve for. Take a break, enjoy and relax for a while. You may see something simple that you never notice before.

Somewhere out there, you may see all the colors of the wind.

你们怎么渡过那短短的马来人开斋节假期？这一次，我已回到我的家乡－关丹。已不记得多少久我没回乡了。除了吃喝玩乐之外(没有啦，太夸张了吧！)，我有机会到林明去参观。那天的天气还很不错。我们还有机会去爬林明山看日出以及飘浮浮的云海。

像地球形状吗？

My computer backs to ALIVE again!!!

My computer was attacked by one complicated spy ware, which was not able to remove by any anti-spy ware or the removal. I decided to format the C Drive. While I installed the Windows, I realized that I had installed into wrong Drive. As the result, my PC had TWO operating systems at the same time. Both of the operating systems were start conflicting each other when I tried to save all my valuable files. Oh my God, really, i felt helpless by looking at my PC...

What's more I could do?

Spent almost 2 full nights, just to format, install FRESH operating system, drivers, programs, download and update files... you know, all the bothersome procedures.

And FINALLY, here I am, and say 'hello' to the World Wide Web.

It has been a long time for not updating my blog.

It was a long hot Saturday. After spending almost half day at Plaza Low-Yat, the Sungai Wang, and then back to the Plaza Low-Yat again, I finally bought some gadgets, on behalf of my father and youngest brother. To treat myself on my "effort" (ha ha ha...), I attended an 8TV event, 八度空间嘉年华, which was held at The Boulevard Berjaya Times Square. A lot of frenzy fans and supporters actively took part in activities, as a lot of prizes were offered to grab!

Now I'm enjoying a Japanese Drama called Karei-naru Ichizoku (Some they called The Perfect Family or 華麗なる一族), a very sad and heartbreaking series. For those who have not watch that, it is worth to watch it.

Extracted and cited from Drama wiki at http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Karei-naru_Ichizoku, the drama is based on a novel by Yamazaki Toyoko. Later in 1974, they produced a movie. The book depicts the conflicts within the Manpyo family, which is famous in Kansai's financial circles, amidst the tumultuous reorganisation of the financial industry of the late 1960s. Unlike the book, the eldest son, Teppei, and not the father, Daisuke, will be the central character of the drama.

This drama is set in the late 1960s decade of Japan. The main rivalry depicted in the story is between Manpyo Daisuke (Kitaoji Kinya), a powerful banker, and his eldest son, Manpyo Teppei (Kimura Takuya), the executive managing director of a steel firm. For some reasons, Daisuke seem to dislike his own son and as Teppei seems to find out the reason for Daisuke's hatred, his whole life is turned upside down with fatal consequences.

My dear Hai Yuan,

I refer to your open question in Windows Live Messenger.

There is no final answer to the old question of the meaning of life since the ancient days, not by the many scholars in religions or philosophy or whatever, despite many thoughts or meditation or discussions or even arguments or fighting to get it!

But, I would like to share with you my simple answer to it.

There are three vital points regarding to the meaning of life:
(1) Life is very precious; if you study the astrology, earth science and life science you will know that the chance of you or me coming alive into this world is practically almost zero! In a nutshell, we are very very lucky to be living here on earth indeed, so we should appreciate it and try to make fully out of it while we are still alive!
(2) Life is very difficult; from the human history, psychology, art and social science, we have to go through so many difficult things like emotions such as greed and fear, human inequality and social injustice, sufferings in famine, poverty, disease, war and killing and natural calamity etc........In a nutshell, we have to fight for survival and have to work very hard and smart to overcome all the difficulties and get all the freedoms (financial or spacial or social) we want!
(3) Life is to live and let live; thanks to our ancestors efforts in the past, we are all here today......try to be healthy, to be rich, to be happy etc.... and to help others also to be healthy, rich and happy etc within our means.....to help create a better world and environment for our future generations......In a nut shell, there are many things to keep us busy within our limited lifetime! ....We should not spend too much time in thinking such as day dreaming and meditation as life is too short and precious to waste.....and we should spend more time in doing the practical things to improve our world and life!

Let us be one of those tiny stars in the milky way; let us be a drop of water in the vast ocean; let us be a sand particle on our good earth; let us be a part of human history, however small it will be!..... although some of us may try to be the brightest star, the cleanest water droplet and the biggest sand particle!....I think that this is the meaning of life!

I am totally agreed with your father's opinion. And I may add one point. Life is like a roller coaster. Sometime we have to face the reality when there is an up-and-down time. Always be wise, patient, honest and open-minded to yourself. You will enjoy and appreciate the roller coaster ride too.

我曾遇见有好几位像那“道名枫”人物的连续剧里。每当我去参加朋友聚会或是新年派对，那些“好奇心”又不太认识的家伙几乎开始叮上全场身上的品牌。过后就一个个开始面试，从家庭财产到事业职位。甚至有些还问到薪水呢!

我之前从来没想到在这个世界，都有这样的人物。也许是他们的好奇心吧。但过了大学及在工作，久而久之，似乎已对这些态度都麻木了。正在看着这部第十章里连续剧的我，心总是向那“杉菜”人物的戏剧里大喊叫好！

My University Utara Malaysia ex-course mate's, Lian Sen's (also my former "leader housemate" in our first semester) hand phone number was appeared on my hand phone's screen on Friday night. It has been a long time since we met each other at Chuah Eng Peng's wedding in March 2007.

He started the conversation by asking me whether I am free on coming 5th of August. I answered to him that I am free that time. Out of the blue, him gave me a big fat bombshell... He will get marry soon, with Poh Lee, another brilliant University Utara Malaysia ex-course mates. So he wants to "book" me on that day for attending his wedding ceremony. At that time, I was surprised by his announcement.

I never thought that my both University Utara Malaysia ex-course mates will get marry so soon. I still remembered that he was jokingly arguing that both of them will get married soon after Jeak Ting's and Seong Cheng's turn, at Eng Peng's wedding ceremony.

Suddenly Lian Sen broke out from silence, "Hey, say something to me..." I was not concentrating on our telephone conversation at that time. I answered to my ex-course mate, "Congratulation!"

昨晚，我接到好友－国辉的电话。就是这样才知道，我们其中一位马来西亚北大大学朋友－晓银。。。她的父亲就在星期五刚刚过世。于国辉说好了送白金的事后，我就躺在椅子上又开始发呆。真的好可怜晓银，毕竟六月份就是父亲节。。。

父亲节起源于一九一零年。在一九零九年，住在美国华盛顿州士波肯市的杜德夫人桑娜(Sonora Smart Dodd )参加完教会举办的母亲节主日崇拜之后，她心里想着：「为什么这个世界没有一个纪念父亲的节日呢？」。当时，她希望把父亲威廉斯马特先生六月的生日做为特别的日子来庆祝，来向她父亲表达敬意。

威廉斯马特先生(William Jackson Smart)是一个参加过南北战争的老兵。他的妻子，在杜德夫人十三岁那一年时，生第六个孩子时不幸去世。在华盛顿东部的一个乡村农场中﹐他独自一人父兼母职，抚养大了这个新生儿和其他五个孩子。直到成年以后，杜德夫人才意识到，她的父亲是一个单身家长，在养育儿女的过程中所付出的坚强和无私。

杜德夫人排行老二，是家里唯一的女孩。女性的细心特质，让她更能体会父亲的辛劳。斯马特先生白天辛劳地工作，晚上回家还要做家务照料每一个孩子的生活。经过几十年的辛苦，儿女们终于长大成人。当子女们盼望能让斯马特先生好好安享晚年之际，斯马特先生却因为经年累月的过度劳累而病倒辞世。

就在一九零九年那年，刚好是威廉斯马特先生辞世之年。当杜德夫人参加完教会的母亲节感恩礼拜后，她特别地想念父亲。直到那时，杜德夫人才明白，她的父亲在养育儿女过程中所付出的爱心与努力，并不亚于任何一个母亲的辛苦。

于是杜德夫人在一九一零年春天开始推动成立父亲节的运动。不久得到各教会组织的支持。她随即写信向市长与州政府表达自己的想法与提议。在杜德夫人的奔走努力下，士波肯市市长与华盛顿州州长公开表示赞成。于是美国华盛顿州便在一九一零年年六月十九日举行了全世界的第一次父亲节聚会。

直至一九二四年，美国总统科立芝(President Calvin Coolidge)支持父亲节成为全美国的节日。在一九六六年，美国总统詹森(President Lyndon Johnson)宣布当年六月第三个星期日，也就是斯马特先生的生日月份为美国父亲节。在一九七二年，美国总统尼克森(President Richard Nixon)签署正式文件，将每年的六月第三个主日，订为全美国的父亲节，并成为美国永久性的国定纪念日。。就这样，父亲节也开始慢慢地传开。在父亲节时，红玫瑰表示父亲还在人间，而白玫瑰表示父亲已经过世。

不管是父亲，或者是母亲还在我们的身边时，希望好好的对待他们。对于他们的父母已过世，希望你们好好的珍惜他们的辛劳。

书桌上的日历已悄悄地进入了二零零七年五月的第二个星期了。为何五月的第二个周末那么特别呢？那就是全世界将会庆祝母亲节。。。

在这生活忙碌中，偶尔我们似乎已忘了这重要的节日。母亲节的起源如何来呢？

母亲节起源于希腊，古希腊人就在那一天向希腊神话中的众神之母赫拉致敬。在十七世纪，这个节日已传到了英国。为了表达对英国母亲们的敬意，英国人把封斋期的第四个星期天作为母亲节《Mothering Sunday》。人们在当天回家探视双亲，并致礼表示敬意。当时，有许多的穷人必须在有钱人家里帮讨生活，而被迫离家寄宿在主人家里，在Mothering Sunday这一天，主人们会放他们假，并鼓励他们返家与妈妈团聚。为增加欢乐气氛，也发展了一种特别的蛋糕称为－mothering cake。

随着基督神在欧洲的扩散，这个节日转为对《Mother Church》的崇敬：表达人们对赋予他们生命、保护他们免於伤害的精神力量的感谢。从此，教会的仪式便与母亲节的庆祝活动相结合，以同时传达人们对母亲与教会的感念。

现代意义上的母亲节起源于美国。一九零七年，费城的安娜 (Ana Jarvis)为了发起订立全国性的母亲节而举办了这像活动。她说服了她母亲所属的、位於西维琴尼亚州的教会，在她母亲逝世二周年的忌日－即五月的第二个星期天，举办母亲节庆祝活动。隔年后，费城人也开始同在五月的第二个星期天庆祝母亲节。

之後，安娜和支持者们开始写信给部长，企业家和政治家，要求订立全国性的母亲节。他们很成功的被接受了，因为一九一一年时，几乎所有的州都已开始庆祝母亲节了。威尔生总统 (President Woodrow Wilson)亦於一九一四年发表官方声言，让母亲节成为全国性的节日，就是每年五月的第二个礼拜天这一天。

在一九三四年五月，美国首次发行母亲节纪念邮票，邮票上一位慈祥的母亲，双手放在膝上，欣喜地看着前面的花瓶中一束鲜艳美丽的康乃馨。随着邮票的传播，在许多人的心目中把母亲节与康乃馨联系起来，康乃馨便成了象征母爱之花《也称为母亲之花》受到人们的敬重。

现在已经是二十一世纪了。这二零零七年五月的第二个星期日，你们又如何庆祝母亲节？一般上，社会里的上班族就会准备一些轻便的活动，例如带妈妈到餐厅吃晚饭，或者是买些礼物送给母亲。过了那重要节日后，他们就回到各自的原位继续忙碌工作。过后，他们也渐渐地开始疏远自己与母亲的亲切感情。更何况有一些社会人士并不知道关于这个母亲节的含义。

记得我还在中学念书时（没记错的话应该是在Form 3的时候吧），我的科学老师曾经说过－你已慢慢地成长，时光并不永远暂留，父母也快要踏上更高一层辈分了。当你要表达感谢父母所付出的牺牲来养育你，他们并不期望你在母亲节或是父亲节时带他们到那些餐厅吃晚饭，或买一些昂贵的礼物送给他们。他们只希望你能做个孝顺的好孩子，也能够永远在每一时刻维护他们。如果你能体会到当时的母亲在那一段七个月慢长的怀孕期里所受过无诉痛苦及挫折，你的父母将会知道您对于他们的诚心谢意。

Abolition of Real Property Gains Tax (RPGT) in Malaysia?

What is Real Property Gains Tax (RPGT)?

RPGT is the chargeable gains arising from the disposal of any land situated in Malaysia or any interest, option or other right in or over such land or the disposal of shares in a 'real property company' is subject to Real Property Gains Tax.

Recently, Malaysia Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi announced on March 22 at the Invest Malaysia Conference 2007 that the real property gains tax (RPGT) would be scrapped. WHEN Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi announced on March 22 at the Invest Malaysia Conference 2007 that the real property gains tax (RPGT) would be scrapped (see theSun report, “Real Property Gains Tax scrapped”, March 23), many conveyancing lawyers were immediately faced with the following consequential issues:

(1) Is this an exemption from RPGT under the Real Property Gains Tax Act 1976 or a total abolition of RPGT?

(2) Do sellers/disposers still need to file the CKHT 1 form (“Cukai Keuntungan Harta Tanah Borang 1”), and buyers/acquirers, the CKHT 2 form;

(3) Does this announcement also apply to corporations and foreigners;

(4) If a sale and purchase agreement (SPA) is dated prior to April 1, 2007, whether the seller/disposer and buyer/acquirer still need to file CKHT 1 and 2 forms, and what if it is after April 1, 2007. In other words, which is the cut-off period date of the SPA or date of completion of the purchase in the SPA?; and

(5) If a property is disposed prior to April 1, 2007, is the seller/disposer required to declare any gain in his personal income tax returns and what if it is after April 1, 2007.

Of course, whenever such an important policy is made by the government, two parties will be immediately affected the party that implements it and the other party which is affected by it, all the more so when the change in law would take effect about one week after the announcement.

Due to the urgency of the matter, I then spoke to the Treasury Solicitor of the Finance Ministry, Hue Siew Kheng, who referred me to the Ministry’s Tax Analysis Division.

On March 29, I was able to speak to the Senior Deputy Secretary of the Division, Siti Halimah Ismail who kindly on the same day directed her assistant, Kamariah Ahmad, to provide us with oral answers to the above queries over the phone, subject to a written reply and confirmation from her division to our said letter.

As April 1 is a Sunday and armed with the oral responses, the Council was able to provide legal practitioners and their clients before April 1 the answers to be expected from the division to the above-mentioned queries.On April 1, the Real Property Gains Tax (Exemption) (No. 2) Order 2007 was published in the Gazette vide P.U. (A) 146:

The Division of Tax Analysis replied officially with the answers to our queries in its letter dated April 4 to the Council’s Conveyancing Practice Committee as follows:

“• The Real Property Gains Tax Exemption Order which has been gazetted as P.U.(A) 146 on April 1, 2007 exempts the application of all provisions of the Real Property Gains Tax Act 1976. This Order came into force from April 1, 2007 and will apply to all disposals that occur with effect from April 1, 2007.

• If a disposal occurs on April 1, 2007 or thereafter, both the seller/disposer and buyer/acquirer will no longer need to file CKHT 1 and 2 forms for any sale and purchase of property;

• If a disposal occurs before April 1, 2007, both the seller/disposer and buyer/acquirer are required to file CKHT 1 and 2 forms;

• The RPGT abolition applies to all categories of sellers/disposers and buyers/acquirers i.e. individuals and corporations including nonresidents;

• The date of disposal of a property is based on the date the sale and purchase agreement is executed or on the date of completion if the agreement is a conditional contract (new amendment to paragraph 16 of Schedule 2 to the Real Property Gains Tax Act 1976 through the 2007 Budget) or on the date of the transfer/completion if no sale and purchase agreement has been signed; and

• If a property is sold/disposed prior to April 1, 2007 then the seller/disposer must declare any real property gains tax in the personal income tax returns. However, if it is sold/disposed on April 1, 2007 or thereafter, a declaration need not be made.”

With this, members of the public are now advised that unless there is a requirement to file CKHT 1 and 2 forms after April 1, 2007 as explained above, no solicitor will now charge his clients the fees for preparation, filing or witnessing of CKHT 1 and 2 forms which are fixed at RM300 and RM200 per form respectively under the Solicitors Remuneration Order 2005.

Lastly, the Bar Council wishes to commend the Finance Ministry, in particular Siti Halimah of its Tax Analysis Division, for being so helpful and quick to attend to our queries. We also note that we are able to reach the relevant Ministry officials quickly because their contact details are published on its website at http://www.treasury.gov.my/.

All these speak volumes about the importance of having a business-friendly and effective public delivery system whenever the government wishes to implement new policies and undertakings. The exemplary working attitudes of these civil servants should be emulated by their other colleagues.

It has been a long time I was “left out” from surfing the net. Thanks to the Streamyx, I was offline for almost 2 weeks. What to do? Nothing can be helped too. 1st Quarter 2007 almost come to the end - 3 days left. We are almost entering the next quarters of year 2007. I'm still wondering... am I achieving something that I wish to be done.So what about you?

After I am working almost 2 years, I still keep scratching my head and think - am i satisfy my current work, or rather to say, am I happy with my current job. And you don't be surprise, I'm still asking myself whether I am able to cope the working pressure well after 2 years working in the current firm. I believe that most of us are not able to enjoy our luxury satisfaction on job. My current occupation is not a job that i always dream of since young. To be honest, I really enjoyed the time when I was a student. No working pressure at all. All you have to do is studying everyday. It is funny to say that I am a weird person who studied science subjects in Form 4 and Form 5 and changed to art stream when it came to Form 6 and later graduated in accounting.

I'm not young nowadays. Many friends met me up lately. They were saying that I am look older than others, physically. In fact I am not young anymore, almost entering 30's and still single. Well, most of friends who became a good husband or wife, while I am still struggling to survive. Ha ha ha...

My wish and hope for the next quarters, 明天会更好!!!
